Number 3 is the middle one with a white door. You should be able to park outside the cottage; if necessary you can use the area in front of the Church House until a space is available. Please do not park in front of our neighbours' houses, except to unload.
Coming by Car
From the North take the A697 south towards Wooler, where you can stop and pick up any shopping you may need (the Co-op is open until 10pm). From Wooler it is 9 miles south, past the brown tourist sign indicating 'Ingram' and 'National Park' to your right. Just before Hedgeley Services take the right-hand turn to Branton and Fawdon. If you miss the turning there is another one you can take just before the bridge as you enter Powburn.
From the South take the A1 north past Newcastle and Morpeth, then follow the sign for Rothbury and Coldstream onto the A697. About half an hour's drive brings you to Powburn. Go through the village, just past the service station (where you can collect any shopping you might need up to 10pm) and take the first turning on the left, signed to Branton and Fawdon.
Branton is about a mile down the road, past Breamish Valley Caravan Site and two near right-angle bends. As you enter the village, you will see Branton Church House on your right, and on the corner past this is a red wall-mounted postbox. This is the row of cottages you are looking for.
Coming by Train
The nearest train station to Northumberland Cottage is Alnmouth, which is near Alnwick on the GNER route from Newcastle to Berwick. From there you can get a taxi to the cottage:
