ReviewsPeople love Northumberland Cottage! From our visitor's book/e mails:
"I just wanted to email and say a big thank you, we had a brilliant time at Northumberland Cottage. After searching for hours over a period of a few weeks, I was thrilled when I found your site. I was so looking forward to our week there and it really exceeded my expectations. It is a wonderful cottage, M and I both commented how at home we felt, which made the last week of our holiday so relaxing and a real pleasure. I saw that lots of people commented on how friendly and helpful you'd been, and that's been my experience too, when you called to say where I could find the dressing gowns, I thought it wouldn't be a problem if we didn't have them, but it was "little" things like that that made our week so special. It really does make things more relaxing to have a dressing gown, not to mention hand and body cream, wonderful books, bubble bath, a digital radio and a very generous welcome pack, thank you. And thank you for all the information about the cottage and area and the tip about the home cooked food at the local Londis! It really shows that you spend time enjoying the property as absolutely everything you need, and lots more, is there and to hand. My girls loved their rooms, all the toys and the ride on toys (in the garden and bedroom), the Mr Men dvd, the little animal cups and colourful plastic plates and cups... the list goes on, we had a thoroughly enjoyable holiday, fantastic weather in amazing surroundings and your cottage made it all even more special." JJ Whittlesey, Peterborough June 2010 "I just wanted to write and thank you for making our stay at the cottage so wonderful. From the welcome pack to the furnishings and childrens toys, it really was the perfect place to stay, you have thought of everything. We loved exploring the local area on the bikes, Livvie learnt to ride on the little red bike, so that had to be taken everywhere with us!! And the log burner was a real treat. Thank you again, I hope you will let us come back...will be finding out when October half term is when I take the children to school tomorrow!! " KH, Sale Cheshire February 2010 "This has been a magical stay for us, very relaxing and comfortable. Felt like a home from home. Our only disappointment was that we only had half a week. We hope to return and will recommend the cottage to friends." Family S.Melton Mowbray October 2008 " We've had another wonderful break at this gorgeous cottage. Thank you Anna for the perfect welcoming 'pack' -so thoughtful. Can't wait to come back" Family N. High Peak Derbyshire October 2008 "...Travelling with an 18 month old is never easy but coming here was relatively stress free. Having toys and nursery equipment to use has made the weekend relaxing for mum and dad....one more lovely evening of a roaring fire, glass of wine....ahh! we'll miss this place!" Family L. Monkseaton Tyne and Wear September 2008 "A wonderful holiday here -wish we could have stayed longer than a week! Lovely cottage and surrounding area. Hope everyone has as lovely a time as we have." Family G Nottinghamshire "Thank you, you've made our stay here really lovely. The duvets and sheets were heavenly, the bikes brilliant... all the little things made all the difference. You have struck just the right balance here. The house and furnishings are lovely... the log burner is great... we're very much impressed with the care you have taken to make us feel welcome" Mr and Mrs Hancock plus J (10 years old), June 2006 "Two adults and three children from Norway have spent some very nice days here. The cottage is extraordinary, both charming and practical. This part of Northumberland was ideal for a family holiday. We have been cycling, walking, looking at castles, sheep and rabbits. Happy valley was a beautiful place and the coastline is amazing. Thanks for all the information both on the web site and at the cottage. And many thanks to Anna for being friendly and helpful by e-mail. We really enjoyed our stay." H. Olsen, Norway, May 2006 "Family Moon with E aged 7 and W aged 2 had a fantastic week. The variety of activities in the cottage for both boys was wonderful and only a week to do them - we shall have to come back and do some we have missed soon. We can heartily recommend the Tankerville Arms in Eglingham - not the cheapest perhaps, but good food is always good value!" The Moon Family, Luton, July 2006 "The perfect cottage in the perfect location! We have just spent
a fantastic week of exploring this part of Northumberland. The coast is
amazing and there are enough castles to content even the most enthusiastic
Knight. The cottage was definitely the best we've ever stayed in - so
well equipped, particularly with regard to children who really enjoyed
reading the books and playing with the games. We can't wait to come back
and visit all the places we didn't have time to explore. We only wish
we had booked for two weeks not one! The Simmonds Family: Liz, Simon, Edward (7) and Francesca (2), Glasshouses, North Yorkshire, August 2006 "Thank you for everything, this has been one of our very best vacations ever! The (2 week) visit exceeded all expectations. The cottage is so beautiful and comfortable. A perfect starting point to endless explorations, as well as a cozy haven on a rainy day to drink tea, read and sit by the fire. Thank you Anna and Bill for all the thoughtful details which have made the stay so special. The web site and grey binder are fantastic resources. The delicious basket of food and cut flowers made us feel right at home. Our two teenage sons love it here as much as we do. Here are a few highlights:
...so much more! We will cherish these memories... Cheers!" The Alcorns, Connecticut, USA, August 2006 "Hi Anna, we had a wonderful stay at your cottage. I managed to plough through three of your books and enjoyed them so much. We accidentally went for a 7 mile cycle one of the days - we'd only intended to cycle to Powburn for lunch! All in all, it truly is a home away from home. Thank you." T.H., Hope Valley, Derbyshire, September 2006 |
