"I just wanted to email and say a big thank you, we had a brilliant time at Northumberland Cottage. After searching for hours over a period of a few weeks, I was thrilled when I found your site. I was so looking forward to our week there and it really exceeded my expectations. It is a wonderful cottage, M and I both commented how at home we felt, which made the last week of our holiday so relaxing and a real pleasure. I saw that lots of people commented on how friendly and helpful you'd been, and that's been my experience too, when you called to say where I could find the dressing gowns, I thought it wouldn't be a problem if we didn't have them, but it was "little" things like that that made our week so special. It really does make things more relaxing to have a dressing gown, not to mention hand and body cream, wonderful books, bubble bath, a digital radio and a very generous welcome pack, thank you. And thank you for all the information about the cottage and area and the tip about the home cooked food at the local Londis! It really shows that you spend time enjoying the property as absolutely everything you need, and lots more, is there and to hand.

My girls loved their rooms, all the toys and the ride on toys (in the garden and bedroom), the Mr Men dvd, the little animal cups and colourful plastic plates and cups... the list goes on, we had a thoroughly enjoyable holiday, fantastic weather in amazing surroundings and your cottage made it all even more special."

"I just wanted to write and thank you for making our stay at the cottage so wonderful. From the welcome pack to the furnishings and children’s toys, it really was the perfect place to stay, you have thought of everything. We loved exploring the local area on the bikes, Livvie learnt to ride on the little red bike, so that had to be taken everywhere with us!! And the log burner was a real treat. Thank you again, I hope you will let us come back...will be finding out when October half term is when I take the children to school tomorrow!! "

"The perfect cottage in the perfect location! We have just spent a fantastic week of exploring this part of Northumberland. The coast is amazing and there are enough castles to content even the most enthusiastic Knight. The cottage was definitely the best we've ever stayed in - so well equipped, particularly with regard to children who really enjoyed reading the books and playing with the games. We can't wait to come back and visit all the places we didn't have time to explore. We only wish we had booked for two weeks not one!

"Thank you for everything, this has been one of our very best vacations ever! The (2 week) visit exceeded all expectations. The cottage is so beautiful and comfortable. A perfect starting point to endless explorations, as well as a cozy haven on a rainy day to drink tea, read and sit by the fire. Thank you Anna and Bill for all the thoughtful details which have made the stay so special. The web site and grey binder are fantastic resources. The delicious basket of food and cut flowers made us feel right at home. Our two teenage sons love it here as much as we do. Here are a few highlights:

• picnic atop windy East Hill
• five mile hike along Hadrian's Wall
• picnic in the dunes then a tour of Bamburgh Castle
• watching two hares bound across the fields like kangaroos
• friendly chats with David, the proprietor of the Good Life Health Food shop in Wooler
• overnight stay in Edinburgh seeing the Tattoo
• day trip to Glasgow and tour of the School of Arts
• rainy trek to Dunstanburgh castle

...so much more! We will cherish these memories... Cheers!"
