Absolutely loved our stay in the cottage... Everything from the location (so peaceful yet so handy for everywhere we wanted to visit), the very generous welcome basket, how well equipped, cosy and immaculately clean the cottage was - everything was simply perfect!! Laura was fabulous, we felt like we had known her forever and my little boy is already counting down then days to our next visit - we can't wait to return! The cottage is a real hidden gem and definitely a firm family favourite with us... Thank you so much for having us

Stayed here last year and always think about how lovely it was. Hope to come back next year

Stayed over the easter weekend with my family and couldn't have asked for a nicer country break. The cottage is beautiful, warm and cosy. The welcome basket was excellent. Enjoyed our stay in the countryside and will definitely stay again. Thank you Laura x

Beautiful cottage and well stocked on baby gear for our 15 week old twin boys....plus the dogs. Think we were blessed with the best "uncertain" weather in GB. Very little rain and we had dry days for our visits which were to the lakes in the village, Beadnell beach(great for dogs), Alnwick Castle&Gardens, The Tree House, Holy Island, Bamburgh Castle, Warkworth Castle and Alnmouth. All in all a great holiday, lovely cottage, area and people!
Nick, Melissa and the twins and the pups.-June 2013
Not so much a holiday cottage as a beautiful and very welcoming home from home. We have loved every minute of our stay and are all feeling much repaired after a long cold winter! All four of us voted in favour of a return to Northumberland Cottage. Thank you so much.

We have enjoyed our stay in Northumberland Cottage very much. Every detail has been made to make anyone staying here as welcome as possible. The fire was great, and once lit just carried on adding to the cosy feel of this lovely place. Thank you Laura for your warm welcome and plentiful hamper on arrival

Another lovely weekend here, we love the cottage it feels like we are staying with friends. It is so cosy and warm and there are beautiful walks and bike rides right outside the door. We used the bikes this time and had a nice ride and the weather was sunny and crisp, just perfect for it. Love this place- thanks so much for
making it so cosy and accomodating!

We have had a relaxing week and a great family holiday in this lovely cottage. This is fantastic cycling country and we've enjoyed some great bike rides. We enjoyed visiting Bamburgh, Alnwick and had a great day out in Edinburgh. Thanks again for dog sitting Laura!

We have thoroughly enjoyed our week in Northumberland and will no doubt be talking about it for weeks, months and years to come!
We have had a wonderful week here. The welcome provisions were perfect and helped us settle in to our lovely holiday. Our two children, aged 22 months and four, have loved the toys both in the house and in the garden. Many an hour was passed chasing each other round the garden table! Laura knows how to make you feel truly at home and that is very much appreciated. We will definitely be back for more!!
We had an amazing family holiday in Northumberland Cottage. Everything has been fantastic from the much appreciated welcome pack to all the equipment and toys that have kept the children amused. Both our teens and toddler have made much use of the bikes, garden toys, duplo, jenga, monopoly and books. It was nice to see our teens play with boardgames instead of blackberries and ipads!! Northumberland Cottage is a great base to discover the area. We enjoyed trips to Holy Island, Newton by the Sea, Seahouses, Linhope Spout and our favorite outing being to the birds of prey centre at The Barn at Beal. The cottage was very good value for money and we have thoroughly enjoyed our stay and look forward to coming back again soon

Wonderful cottage with all the added extras making it even more perfect!! had a jam packed week-Alnwick Castle+Gardens, Bamburgh Castle and beaches(complete with buckets and spades and sledges on the sand dunes all provided) and Cragside. The bikes were great fun and allowed Adam(6) to gain new found confidence. Just foiled by the weather in our aim of an evening in the pub. Thank you very much for enabling us to have such a carefree week. Looking forward to coming back soon!

We've had a lovely few days in this super cottage. We liked everything about it and the welcome pack was an added bonus. We enjoyed visiting Ford and Etal, the coast, Rothbury and Wooler. The weather was much better than expected. We only wish we could stay for a week or longer. We shall be back!!! Thank you.

Alan, Nancy, Tom, Isabelle and Buster the dog. -April 2012
We have had a great holiday in your cosy cottage! The kids enjoyed all the toys and books through the wet and showery couple of days. We loved walking down the lane to seee the animals and it was an added bonus to wake up and see the baby calves playing in the field across the road. The welcome pack was much appreciated!

A lovely well situated and appointed cottage in a most beautiful area which, over the years, we have come to love. Being winter we were concerned it might be cold but to our delight the cottage is toasty warm with the most comfortable beds. We wou" recommend Barter Books in Alnwick, Low Newton as well as Rothbury and Alnwick towns. The Percy Arms in Chattan is good for food as is the Ship Inn at Low Newton and of course the Newcastle House in Rothbury. All good experiences to be repeated soon hopefully. Right on the doorstep we loved the Lakes and nature reserve at Branton and the Ingram Valley is just such a haven of peace.
Our sixth visit to this cottage spending over ten weeks here in total but the first time in winter. We have had rain, sleet and snow but also lots of sunshine. We enjoyed all the facilities at the cottage including some new toys and books and we have revisited old favourite places such as Barter Books, the Breamish Valley and Ingram with the cafe there as good as ever. We enjoyed Warkworth Castle, Holy Island including the Priory, the beach at High Newton. We enjoyed seeing different bird life in the winter such as tufted grey ducks, grey heron, goosander, grey labs geese and and and.... we are already looking forward to returning here in July as it is already booked.
Thank you for having us on our second visit to the cottage. On the basis that our things we didn't do list is now longer than when we arrived we think it is safe to say we will be back for further visits. We spent more time closer to home this time. Do check pit Tully's Tearoom and the butchers savoury and sweet collection in Rothbury. Linhope Spout was an aerobic highlight, as was the Iron Age hill hill fort and the cup and rings stone at Lordenshaw. Natural highlights were a woodpecker, a nuthatch, a dipper, lots of red grouse and gallons of frogspawn, newts and a toad under the car outside the front door, but no adders this time.
Yet again another amazing visit. The two boys loved the local walks and got to see all the new lambs. We even got to witness a deer running across one of the local fields. The cottage was extremely clean and had everything we needed. What an amazing touch having a welcome basket. The boys played with all the toys and watched no TV!
Lovely as always - our 4th time here- and despite the weather this part of the world is always such a pleasure to visit. Something was definitely in the air as our two elderly and somewhat poorly doggies seem to have had a bouncy and waggy new lease of life
Another amazing week in Northumberland. We couldn't have been luckier with the weather. The cottage is perfect as always and our boys just love it here. We explored the Cheviot Hills this time.
Our sixth year here and it is now just a home from home! We love this cottage so much and have walked and walked. We have now visited Ford and Etal three times but it has actually been all about the food, the laughter and the famous five. Here's to next year we have already booked!
The third time we have stayed here and the cottage is home from home. Travelled light thanks to the Tesco delivery to the cottage. Had a fantastic week and covered over 70km on foot over the week. Our dogs have had a blast too. Can't wait to come back again next year for more fun in the countryside. Thank you again Laura.
Truly loved our weeks stay here on our second visit. Had fun days out at Cragside, Bamburgh Beach, Whitehouse Farm and Kirkley Hall. The cottage is truly home from home and has everything you need. It is exceptionally clean and ideal for families. We look forward to seeing you again next year
We have had a wonderful week in your delightful cottage. One week wasn't long enough. Never mind. I am sure we will be back! We enjoyed walking anc cycling in this lovely quiet area and fitted in a few trips to the seaside as well. The dog was in heaven with all the opportunities to swim Andrew especially enjoyed her walks to the Ford. Thank you for a lovely, comfortable stay.
Another wonderful stay in this magical part of the world. Thank you for your hospitality and wonderful cottage.
What can we say that we didn't last time.. An amazing stay in a beautiful well equipped home with a very generous welcome
pack. We visited a few of our favourite places but still managed to walk up Humbleton Hill in Wooler this time - Windy!!! Stunning views though we couldn't hold the camera still. Thanks again for a brilliant break, hope to be back soon.
our 8th visit and as ever the cottage is home from home. We had a busy but fun and relaxing week. We did some of our old favourite trips but also had an excellent night visit to the Keilder Observatory with a great supper at the Cheviot Hotel in Bellingham on the way back, a trip t9 Corbridge and to visit the roman ruins. As well as the usual wildlife we also saw a sparrow hawk, and an unidentifiable owl
Thank you for a lovely relaxing weekend away, we don't want to leave. Lovely place to stay and just so peaceful. We have already recommended this place to friends and family.
